trabalhou 44 anos com as
colonistas e os indios.

A
famous Jesuit missionary known as the
Apostle of Brazil. He was
born in 1534 on the Island of
Tenerife and died in
Brazil in 1597. He was sent
to the New World to
restore his health but
became a sort of
missionary. He
reached Brazil in 1553
and worked there among
the colonists and indian natives for about
forty-four years. He
opened a school to teach Latin,
this was probably the first
classical school in the
Americas.
